About Horsham and the surrounding district

You may have gathered that At Home Estate and Letting Agents are very passionate about Horsham and Southwater and would be more than happy to help you on your journey into the area, so please ask if you have questions about the beautiful surrounding villages such as Henfield, Billinghsurst, Pulborough and Ashington.

If you're new to the area then you will find a multitude of reasons to live in the vicinity of Horsham; from the fantastic schools, beautiful countryside, almost non-existent crime rates, pretty town centre and location that provides easy access to Gatwick, London and Brighton. There are plenty of reasons as to why the area was recently voted the 5th best place in a recent Experian report, 2nd best place to live in a Channel 4 programme, The Best and Worst Places to Live in the UK, and second happiest place to reside by The Times newspaper.

Horsham is a historic market town in the centre of the Weald. For a real sense of history, take a walk down the Causeway, just off the Carfax, to see houses dating back to the 17th century. At the end of the Causeway you will find the Church of St Mary, originating in Norman times and rebuilt in the 13th century. The town centre is an attraction in itself, with superb restaurants lining East Street and small independent boutique shops scattered throughout the historical Carfax and West Street.

Southwater boasts the ever popular Country Park, a stunning lake in a country setting that has the extremely popular Dinosaur Park within its confines. The Downs Link runs past the lake, starting near Guildford and ending in Shoreham by Sea, and provides excellent cycling and hiking opportunities, with a few great pubs along the way. Here you will also find the modern Lintot Square and one of the best curry houses that we have ever frequented! Southwater truly is a family friendly location and the buses into Horsham run until midnight and every 15 minutes at peak times.

Barns Green hosts the annual half marathon and includes Sumners Pond in its locality, a fantastic fishing and camping spot with a delightful restaurant and lake side veranda that is a beautiful spot to kill some time. Live music is occasionally on the entertainment schedule here.

Mannings Heath is a picturesque village just south of Horsham, home to a world renown golf course.

Cowfold, further south, is in an excellent location to access Horsham, the A24 to Worthing or Epsom and the A23 to Brighton or Crawley.

Partridge Green is a short distance south of Horsham and here you will find the Partridge pub, a truly essential stop on the Downs Link.

Christ's Hospital hosts one of the oldest schools in the country, an outstanding setting and incorporating a leisure centre.

Leisure

Horsham boasts the Horsham Park where you can find its leisure centre and swimming pool, formal gardens, maze, tenpin bowling, snooker club, BMX and skateboarding ramps, tennis courts, football and rugby pitches and basketball nets. On the outskirts is St Leonard's Forest for country trails, the Down's Link that runs through the whole district and the spectacular Mannings Heath Golf Club, with Rookwood and Horsham Golf and Fitness present within Horsham town itself.
